Hello all,

Overall great job. Some of the movement is a little puppet like and not very natural, but I really loved the facial expressions. Good stuff
howd you do the mouth movements. every time i try to make mouth movements part of my characters face moves with it, some times part of the head
Thanks, Steve. I agree, some motion didn’t come out as well as I would like. Character animation is something that I’m new at and am still trying to figure out how to get that smooth lifelike motion.
Liquid_legs, The mouth movement and facial expressions are all done using drivers and shape keys. The character is the same from the Baker tutorials. So it was already modeled and rigged. I would think, that if you are trying to move your characters facial features and other parts of the face and head are moving along with that, it sounds like a parenting issue. If you grab a driver controller bone, such as the bottom lip, then only that bone should move and no others with it.
Here is a tutorial for an advanced face rig. If you haven’t seen it before then it should prove to be helpful. http://www.blendercookie.com/2011/03/16/creating-an-advanced-face-rig-part-one/
oh ok, awesome
Greatness. You really get the emotional connection of the scene across in the character expressions and you are very good at preserving all that creepy tension.
Some day Joe Pesci will be recognized as the world’s greatest comedic genius.
Just not while he lives.
And for about fifteen minutes.
And then it will be Michelle Bachman.
Real entertaining. Goes to show how much dialog adds to an animation.
I think lip sync is one of the hardest parts of animation, it’s kind of a catagory of its own.
Overall, good job: Mouth is a little flappy in places. The rest of the animation works well.
