hey,
My dad got a job updating many googles conference rooms. he asked me to render them in 3d, to show the guys at google. when im finished, i hope for it to look very nice, very professional. id like all the help i can get at making it REALLY COOL. i could get a part time job there if they are impressed, so… i really would like too.
keep in mind, right now, its at its VERY beggining stages. right now, im just modeling the room as it is, then ill add the stuff that my dad will be adding…
this is the first hours work right here
thanks in advance for any c&c given!
(incase anybody wanted to know, its the google office in mountain view, and the guys there are REALLY cool)[/list]
It’s not looking too bad, except the table looks like it’s filling up the whole room. Maybe it’s just the perspective but I think it should look a bit smaller, and the texture on it doesn’t look right.
That’s about all the crits I can give at this stage in its development. I hope you impress the Google people when it’s done.
ehmm… well, cannot really say anything yet… it’s too early. right now it surely doesn’t look like professional work, so I’ll wait until you have lighting and textures in place.
If this is for semi-pro, then you have to start bevelling your edges. Also, since you’re doing interior mockups, invest some time into learning to use the new easy radio-rendering tools. They are the only way to do something like this well.
thanx for the replies, yes, these lights are only for testing perposes, i will TRY to radio it when its done… but im not very good at it , i will start beveling my edges, i really should, instead of being too lazy. the tables about the size it is in real life, but, i think its the perspective, ill make it smaller if the other perspectives also make it look too big
As was mentioned, your perspective seems to be just above table height - and almost the same height as the door handle. This is probably fine if everyone working at Google are elves. I don’t know - I have never been there.
Otherwise you might want to consider putting your camera at approximate standing height.
That looks siginificantly better! Are you using the radiosity? It doesn’t quite look like it yet. Next, you can pay some attention to the texturing on the table top. It’s a major visual element, so you might want to find a better, non-repeating wood image for the top.
thanx all for the replies, it has radiosity, but it looks pretty shitty, so i added 3 hemis, 3 lamps, and 3 shadow spots, all in 3 groups, and it looks like that, thanx again, anybody kno a good wood texture for the table?
I’d bet that your ceiling is black because it’s normals are facing the wrong way. I had a lot of trouble with that before I figured out why some objects were black. I’d have thought it’d be lit up by the lamps though…
