okay so i found out that you can change your setting to speed up rendering in cycles, only problem, i dont get the option for gpu or “cuda” or anything, is there any way to fix this? im running blender 2.65a on a acer aspire v5

Unless it’s a discrete compatible NVidia graphics card you won’t be able to use gpu rendering. Looking at some of the v5 models on the Acer site it doesn’t look like there is any models with this.
