Graphic Glitches and Transperacy

Well Blender always worked fine, then I stopped using it for a while and when I came back, I think i installed a new version or something and anyways, in edit mode everything is transparent, also I’m getting little graphical glitches where the edges are disturbed or after I click on something a little square appears beside where i last moved the mouse. These things don’t really affect the work flow much, but it’s all preference and I was wondering if any of you know how to fix the graphic problem, and also how to make the items non transparent (maybe it has something to do with the graphic problems). Here is a picture to demonstrate

Besides buttons for activating edge mode, vertice or face mode, you’ll see one more (last one in that row), if you click it it will deactivate that transparancy you talking about. I don’t know about that glitches.

Thanks. It didn’t fix the little glitch but I’m thinking now that it might have something to do with my video card or something.

absolutely. the box button is just to limit your selection to visible verttices/edges/faces. The little “window” in the middle of the mesh is weird. Question: If you Shift-MMB and pan the display, does the “window” stay with the mesh or in the same position in your display?

I’ve had a problem like that on a machine that had an ATI Radeon X300 card. It also had a similar problem in Lightwave, so it’s an OpenGL problem AFAIK.
