on graphicall, they use the basic official icons for windows and mac,
but for linux they found a tux picture that is cross eyed and bloated to the point of impending explosion. haha
i feel the official tux icon i always see is nice because, sure it’s a smiling penguin, but at least it looks calm and collected, dare i say classy.
Are there any other classy tux icons out there? And also, is tux the only linux icon you know of? the linux foundation and linux.com websites have a different emblem. (blue rounded square w bottom left corner light blue forming an L). I’m not sure poeple would identify with that emblem though.
anyways just something i was thinking about and wondered what other people thought. (graphicall’s choice for linux icon and linux icon representation in general)
zanos… this is off-topic chat. i wasn’t requesting anything change. I was just on graphicall and i noticed the goofy icon, and it got me thinking about the linux icon in general and what people thought about official icons of linux. For instance, i’m not even sure the regular tux penguin that people regularly see is the official icon, since linux.com and the linux foundation have a different icon.
this is one of the reasons graphicall probably picked one because there is less of an obvious singular icon to use.
i was wanting to see what other people thought and see if some people have some favorite tux versions, or know more about an official icon.
why randomly get angry and belittle linux users? nobody’s worrying about anything. take some blood pressure medicine.
