@HG1 - Thanks for the suggestion. I’m currently using ATITool for underclocking my graphics card so that it won’t work so hard - I’ll see if that helps.
EDIT: Ooookay, a few minutes in, and there’s no problems so far… Instead of 500 mhz, it’s running the card’s core and memory CPUs (?) at 475, so maybe that was enough of a difference. The card is at a consistent 64 degrees Celsius, so perhaps it’s alright for now…
EDIT 2: I’m using multitexture mode in Blender 2.59, and it seems like I can run the BGE for quite awhile now without any errors. I believe the problem seemed to arise if I switch scenes a lot and test out the game… After the errors arises at first, it holds through to any other blend file I load, and makes objects with textures disappear.
EDIT 3: However, Blender seems to crash if I use the game engine several times, like over 7 or so. Maybe it’s a memory leak or something - I’m not especially worried about it, as I have Audaspace up and running, so it might be a problem with my sound factory / device creation process.
EDIT 4: @HG1 - I don’t think my graphics card has irreparable damage, but I do know that there is an issue with it overheating. If I played a graphically intense 3D game, even a graphically intense 3D BGE game, for enough time, the graphics would start to corrupt.
However, it would usually be alright for the first 30 minutes or so, so I think that underclocking my card might be a good idea, at least until I physically solve the problem. I probably wouldn’t want to run the fan harder than necessary, either, since the card might very well be clogged with dust.
EDIT 5: Ran Hegira for around 10-15 minutes in the background while I did other things, then went back and played around with it for a little bit. The problem didn’t arise again, so I hope that it’s a little better. Thanks!
