Thanks Richard! Does this actually work for you? Does it have to be used under very special circumstances… I enabled it because of the two big names on it but I can’t see any way to make it work!!

from aother point of view you dont’ need addon
you can do it directly
just use Magnet on and select faces
add a plane then in edit mode remove all verts then
with Ctrl-D you can add pointss on the surface of any object !
and that is retopo automaticaly
