When using the Grease Pencil I’m in “Draw Mode” with stroke placement set at Surface and freehand line stick to surfaces, but when I press w for “Pencil Draw Specials” be it Line, Rectangle, or Circle they are aligned to the camera.

Im after straight lines in perspective view which stick to surfaces, Any ideas?

These tools are relatively new. There are made to create 2D Shapes made of few straight lines in view plane.

But you can re-project GP strokes created that way by selecting them in edit mode and going to menu Strokes-> Transform -> Reproject Strokes.
