Great source for equirectangular images (environment textures)

Seeing that we can use equirectangular environment textures in cycles, I decided to check and see what I could find on flickr that had a creative commons license for equirectangular images. Well I was happy to find a ton of great images! So I thought I would share here.

While most of these may not be perfect, for quick and dirty lighting and background I think this might come in very handy! Especially with the variety of images that are available.

Enjoy!

Thanks, that saves me a good amount of time.

Great find!

good find! Now, if only they were all HDR…

Incredible pictures, thanks!

free HDR

THere are also some free HDR packs on deviantart.

Well done!

thank you sir

Eumm…is there somewere an explanation how to use them?
Thanks!
Martijn.

In Cycles, int eh world tab, the surface should be background, plug an environment texture into that node and it should work from there…

Using a non-hdr image will give it some lighting, but not really harsh shadows…

Great, thanks!
