zips aren’t usually installer versions. just delete the folder where you unziped it. if it needs the installed version you can use the installer version. what is green button? if you go to control panel uninstal programs will be under the programs section. click on it. if blender 2.56 dosn’t apear on the list you didn’t install it you just unzipped it. (unzipped works just as good unless something else depends on it, it just dosn’t apear on the start run menue unless you pin it)
@rdo3, if I’m not mistaken, 1cronos is referring to the Blender exporter for the Green Button rendering service. If I was paying USD 19.95 a month for a rendering service (Green Button’s current price) I’d expect that they would come up with a new exporter fairly quickly.
Blender 2.56 has only been officially released for all of 1 day, with all the changes being made to the blender api they would need some stability if you expect quick updates that have been reliably tested (the current green button version is for the official 2.55beta, I expect it unreasonable for them to make a new version for each revision number). From reading the first post it appears to me that the OP hasn’t got a clue what they are doing anyway.
Richard Marklew, nice catch! Blender 2.5X has been a moving target and that’s only natural. I sympathize with anyone trying to create exporters or scripts for it. Hopefully, the release of 2.56 will result in some stability.
I downloaded 2.56 from Blender Foundation and I was pleased to see that the Dynamic Spacebar Menu no longer requires re-enabling with each startup. That’s progress that makes my life easier.
