Green nursery w/garden. Bird's eye & close-ups

These are some visualisations I am working on for a competition, for which I missed the deadline, but I am continuing to work on anyways.

The idea is that there are 5 houses that are very simple and easy to build, connected with a light-filled corridor, with a garden in the middle, for children, to aide in sensory inpup. The project is about creating a children’s nursery. I’ve worked a bit on the site, vegetation, and the architecture. The garden is my next focus.

I know i have some problems with trees covering up too much, and going inside of houses and such, struggling a bit with the grass, i can’t afford a complete particles grass, yet the textures, seem, well, textured…

Using Cycles for rendering and compositing with Gimp for post-processing.

Update: I have been focusing mainly on the vegetation and textures lately. Here is the latest with no post-processing:

Initial renders below:

A lot of credits to a lot of people, mainly from blendswap for the cars, some of the trees, the playground model, the plants

The repeating textures really hurt the overall impression. Other that that, it looks quite good.

Agreed, completely, will work a lot more on them

post production that soft brush is definitly to Hard/strong.

ok, will ease up the post-production in the sequent versions

some updates on the scene. have been doing a lot of tutorials on grass, textures, and vegetation. the best grass tutorial I have seen is this one.

That’s going to be wonderfully convincing from both near and far. Great great great.

another one

it seems like after I added some HDR enviornmental textures or a sky texture, the renderings contain more noise for the same samples settings

another render.

added privet shrub ( floating a little bit at the momement), and open windows

I accidently placed the camera behind some thin wood slats.

I also saw some videos a gamma adjustment is made to environmental textures. Is it necessary?

good thing this only took 6.45 hours to render on my 2008 laptop

a very very rough beginning of the interiors

270 samples for 2.5 hours. I am thinking about giving mitsuba a try

some new interior tests
