I still don’t believe it, but I’ve just been given a fully licensed, freshly shrinkwrapped copy of Cinema 4D XL 8… I haven’t got the physical package delivered yet, but it will be on its way in a couple of days…
All this thanks to a terribly nice persian CG-artist named Ila Solomon. He won the package in the cg-challenge a few months back, and since he’s a die-hard user of Maya, he simply didn’t feel the need to own it. So he decided to give it away to someone he thought would make good use of it… And that’s the beginning of the story. You can read all about it in this thread over at CGTalk: http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69835
Anyway, this means that my movie-project will be set back about a month or so while I climb this new learning-curve. It will be a lot of fun, I’m sure. This kind of opportunity doesn’t come very often, so I intend to make the most of it. I’m positive that nobody ever put 1600 dollars worth of 3D-software in my hand before, that’s for sure.
I have no intention of abandoning Blender. It is still one of the greatest 3D-suits on the planet, and this does not change any of that. And Elysiun is still my second home on the web. So, that won’t change either. But I will probably give the boys in the C4D-forum @ CGT a hard time soon…
Celine Dion? Avril Lavigne? John Lasseter? Marlon Brando? The Trix Rabbit? Noah Webster? Cary Elwes? Kiefer Sutherland? Elisha Cuthbert? Dennis the Menace? Kib? S68? Me? Quentin Tarintino? Gus Van Sant? Oh, I give up… who?
