Gun for Fun =)

Recently I got involved with a game project called “Free Orion” (http://www.freeorion.org) and have been making graphics and models for it ever since

This model is going to be for the Technology part of the game, upgrading weapons for your fleet etc etc…
Also, this isn’t highly detailed, because typically for the end of the game it is going to be buffed down to 320x256 sigh, but anyways :stuck_out_tongue: All that is required of it in the end is a small 360 degree rotation…

Here’s the sketch I based it off:

And here’s the model now:

The gun looks pretty cool. Do you know what kind of programming language they are using to progam this game. I am a computer programmer so its always interesting to find out what people use.

heh, sounds purty cool, and I like the gun, but I see nowhere to hold it :expressionless:

cool 8)

very, but as DMB siad, how the hell do you hold it?

if all else fails, you could grab it by the end and use it as a club

, yeah but the midsection is so weak, it’d snap off :expressionless:

Ok, my general idea is that the end of it (far right on the sketch) slots into a spot of the wing =) General guidlines for this sort of thing is, if it looks good, do it (whether or not it breaks some freaky law of physics :D)

Either way, I didn’t think that advance when I was sketching lol, it isn’t actually going to be attached to a model or anything, so it only has to look reasonable good when rotated

teufelonlin: I’m actually not sure, my guess would be C or C++, but… I know we have a working beta on CVS, but I just haven’t look at it, soz…

Anyway, just about the project, here is a screenshot of the setup so far:
(beware, pretty darn big)
