Gundam MSN-02

Here’s a couple of early progress shots of my latest project. The interesting thing about this Gundam is all of his fingers can shoot and he has no legs. If I remember right, this was an unfinished prototype used by Char. But it’s been years since I’ve seen the show. I’ve got a little ways to go on this one. My progress has slowed to a crawl as my computer can’t quite handle Blender 2.48 with this model loaded in. Rendered with level 2 subsurf, its about 500,000 polygons so far.

I did a quick side view render. I plan to do a 3/4 view when I get the materials on it.

Though this in Gundam 0079, but this is not a Gundam It is Zeong and its a mobile suit, that’s it!

Keep up the modelling, you should also create Gundam RX78-2 as well for the final scene.

I did mean to put Gundam in the title of the thread to imply that this is model number MSN-02 from Gundam. But I did accidentally refer to it as “this Gundam” in my first post. Oops. As for modelling RX78-2, I have no plans for that. I want to model the GP02, but don’t know when I’ll get around to it.

I put simple materials on all of the pieces, but I think it needs more work. I wanted to render it with Luxrender, but my computer ran out of memory and crashed. I use Blender internal render with orthographic camera at a high angle. I also have the hands in firing position.
