I’ve always liked guns ;), so I decided to model some. I’m starting out with a UMP 45. This is what I have so far:
Don’t worry about the seam, that’ll go away once I join the two sides.
Next up for this model: the barrel and foregrip. I also have to tweak a lot of things in the z-direction, it seems too flat to me.
Good so far, but it would probably be useful to model the clip seperatly.
I got a few minutes and decided to work on this.
Thanks robdollar, I did what you said and separated the clip.
Update: Added barrel, foregrip, sights, and a few details.
Next will probably be the trigger and the catch for the clip (at least, that’s what I think it is)
:-? I agree, I’ll have to sharpen them up a bit
BTW, one question: how do I do that without adding any verts? I rmember there was a way to make creases or something but I don’t remember how to do it
Edit- nevermind, it was shift-e
another small update - played with the edge sharpness a little bit (still kinda don’t like it) and added trigger and clippy thing. next is the sight rail, and then who knows what!
I also changed tha lighting.
looks good so far but i would suggest that you dont sub surf the entire weapon model
manual smoothing of some parts seems more appropriate
Put the lines on the RIS grip, they are right about the bottom
I would make the comfort grip thing be less pronounced. It seems way too sharp, if you know what I mean. Other than that, good gun! I always thought this would be a cool gun to model…
