Hair added NOT where i click...

Hi there!

I’ve made a character and i want to add eyebrows. so, i made the normal settings for hair, changed the ‘number’ to 0, ant started adding hair in the ‘particle edit’.
The problem is that the hair appears not where i click (i click where the eye brows should be, and it appears on the nose, for example). I’ve tried to set vertex group. it doesn’t help.

Here is what happened when i used vertex group (and raising the number of the Emission):

Hope you can help me with it.
(Hmmm… maybe it caused by switching to a new version of blender?)

Thanks, and sorry if my English is not perfect…

PS: now i see it somehow related to the subsurf. When I delete the subsurf modifier it fixed, but return when i re-adding subsurf.

You’ve got a few options. In the hair system, toward the bottom, set the vertex group to eyebrows for density and length. That should solve your immediate problem.

A somewhat more flexible method is to create another object, an extruded plane, eyebrow shaped, very near where you want it on the firehead. Subsurf it, add a shrinkwrap modifier using the face as the object, offset a small negative amount. Then add the the hair system, weight paint it, and go from there. That way you can move the eyebrows around easier and test different looks. Good luck.
