Hi,
This seems simple but I cannot figure it out. Whenever I turn children on for hair particles they are all over the place, both simple and interpolated. I am using 2 addons for character and hair creation and everything works fine up until turning on children: Hair Tool and MB-Lab
If I reduce clumping to almost 0 I can get the children to resemble the original shape, but the underlying problem is still there and causes weird effects if I make further changes.
Good day, may I take your issue? Hair trainer/Groomer here.
Ok. You´re gonna have to work this out. But first let me explain what’s going on:
When you create the hair particle system on 2.8 there´s now a “freeze operator” You´re going to have to unfreeze the operator (at the particle + creation window box). Message says: All changes will be lost and reset: Accept. Your hair goes back to the original scale and position you had before you modify the count and the children. Snap a picture of how it looks after this operation and post it here.
If I would take a wild guess, somewhere along the line, the APPLY transformation was activated in combination with translation, somewhere in your workflow, there for, the scale of the children don´t match.
I hope cleaning the operator would allow you to go back to the original form.
Another thing to check is WHERE IS THE CENTER (origin) of the mesh, when you do hair, work in a separated scalp with origin at 0,0,0 in universe.
Thank you for calling Blender Line. It´s been a pleasure to assist you today. Please leave a rating for this call.
Can you tell me where the creation window box is? I’m not sure what you mean by that.
I’ve made sure the object has a 0,0,0 origin and I get the same result.
I figured out the simple children settings by reducing the radius, going to play with that to see if I get the result I want. Still would like to figure out the interpolated problem.
