Hi!
I made some hair in houdini and imported it in blender, it is considered as curves and with the Geometry>Extrude i added some width, but there is a weird faceting going on.
Does somebody know how to smooth this kind of look? thx!

I’m not quite sure what would cause the weird facets, but maybe you could try using the bevel option in then curve settings instead of extrude? Extrude makes flat ribbons and bevel makes cylinders.
Hello! That happens when you try to use the principled hair shader on regular geometry. It’s designed to work with either hair particles or hair curves in the 3.3 alpha.
For versions previous to 3.3 you’d need to convert the imported curves to particles hair with hairnet add-on or something like that.
In 3.3 alpha there is a new curves object type in which you can import your curves via geonodes. You can even apply the gn modifier afterwards and the hair will keep the shape and will let you edit it in curves sculpt mode. This ‘curves’ object is not feature complete yet, as it lacks of some brushes and the hair still doesn’t follow the base object, but the devs are doing a a great job and it will eventually replace hair particles.
Keep in mind 3.3 alpha is still in development and something unexpected can happen at any time .
Hope it helps.
