Hair particles not connected to its root and tips

help with hair particle not connected to the root and tips, making the hair children looks hovering over the skin/mesh and not attached.

tbh this is my second attempt creating eyelashes on my current project, the first one was a disaster, after deleting that verticle and created a new one, this happened. Idk what I clicked on, how do I fix this? My mesh is not subdivided and is a sphere mesh I sculpted.

Do you have bspline on? If so, this is kinda normal behaviour.
