Just wondering of some possible open source /commercial software that can allow for hair export to a game engine. Which has to be in planes and not thousands of particle vertices. Could model it but this would be very time consuming for wolf’s, bears etc…I know about Hair for Maya and I think Z-Brush now, but I use 3D Coat and I’m looking for something in a smaller package right now!
you can turn hair into a mesh, but that is a lot of polygons. what you can do, is use blenders hair to make some nice hair textures by rendering it and applying it to mesh strips.
Then try and align it with the particle system planes. K, thx. Will have to try it one day!
