C&C please

Cool nice job looks ready to ride

Roach 8)

That is fine, really good.
but how long did you say it had been abadoned?

cause, right now i does not look like it’s been abadoned for a long time, maybe you shold make things less perfect?

Anyhow, great render… looking forward to see finished results

Good work,
here is mine i did a while back when i was a Noob

Keep it up

-EDIT- by the way is it an old SKooL Halfpipe because it has no flat bottom :-?

Those pipes on the ends of the halfpipe, wouldn’t they make you trip and fly off into oblivion when you ride up the side?

Maybe they are a bit to big on my render, but they do exist:

But your right, they are way too big on mine, so I’ll make them smaller. Thanks for the tip.

Nah its not ald skl, so I made the bottom more flat. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hey yea, thats a good point. Actualy, i think im trying to make it so that it is the morning, when no one is in the park, you know?

Thanks for all your replys, expect an update today

Using the skateboard thats on the halfpipe itself as a refrence, the halfpipe is much to small.

Since a person is about 4 times as big as a skateoard, trying to ride in such a small halfpipe would be a task indeed. :-?

Or maybe the skateboards too big?

Well, that would work, but then the cups would seem large to the board.

First of all, thanks for all your replies.

okay here’s an update
I tried to fix the dimensions of the halfpipe, I added a flat bottom. Does it look better?

Please note that the objects are not in their final place, I’m going to place in a different location later on.

C and C please

Thanks
alex

a floor would be a good addition

Floors are overrated

Well, that would work, but then the cups would seem large to the board.

Supersize Mcdonalds. I heard where someone actually drowned in one of them. It’s true. Honest.

hey guys, I started the texturing of the park, and I was wondering how I could texture the halfpipe. Image texture?

I added a floor :stuck_out_tongue:

thanks and bye

Either procedural or uv mapping would be your best bet. Theres a tut on uv mapping at http://blender3d.org/cms/Tutorials.243.0.html#819

Okay, here’s my first go at materials. You can see that I suck at it!

Thanks for any comments and critiques.

And with edge settings:

BTW, what do you like better, with or without edges?

Thanks,
Alex

Change the spec settings on the halfpipe and other materials that don’t have spec in real life

Are you going for a cartoony look? If not I would definitely remove the edges

The halfpipe looks rather thick and too smooth.
Those corners should be more edgy.
And the distance between the sides is too small.
A half pipe should have a flat middle of about 2.5 to 3 meters.
Also, they usually use a lighter type of wood.
