Hallway Scene

This is just a hallway I am working on, the hope is to seamlessly add in live action to this, but it is not realistic enough yet.

Good start! Some spots which should be solved:

  • The textures are quite repeatative.
  • The windows look smooth-shaded, they should be flat.
  • The horizontal beams of the windows should be fatter, or the vertical beams thinner.

Also, I definitely would look at cycles. This kind of scenes are perfect for the cycles render engine.

Thanks, I didn’t think about the windows.
I will take the textures into GImp and change it up a bit.
I don’t know what you mean about the windows.

I like Cycles, but my CPU is really slow on it and my GPU crashes whenbibtry that.

A quick overpaint to clarify what I mean.
Also, your scene looks a little boring, add a cabinet, chair or something else.

I did all of what you said, except fixing the textures. I also added in some molding around the ceiling.

This is going to be for a film, it is not a picture in and of itself. I don’t think I will add many more objects.

I just experiment a little with the textures. Do you think it is better, or worse than the last one?

Tiles on floor, not on ceiling. Tiles only affect bump on walls, not color. Changed the compositing slightly.

Have you ambient occlusion on that scene?
If not, try turning it on.
If you CPU is slow you can try painting some smooth shadow where the walls, floor and roof intersect

To add some interest on the scene you can add some complementary color… for example a bit of red on the lights that can be seen through the windows.

Yeah, I am using ambient occlusion- 75%.

I am still experimenting with the lights.

I just did a little experimenting with textures.

This is the outside of the building, it is on another planet. (I will work on the terrain later)

I think I may start a completely new thread for this one.
