Halo Layer help

I’m having a (probably common) issue with halo materials showing behind anything set with trans (like a plain with an alpha-mapped texture.) I need the halo to show in front og the object (like the old versions did pre-node) Ok I’ve heard of some compositing features that do this but had some trouble figuring out how to do this. Also does this slow down the render even more with composite nodes vs the old way.

Why are halos behind ztrans anyway?

Managed to answer my own question but performance is poor. I’m not happy using Node composite to handle halos properly. It’s so much slower than previous releases.
