Hand Drawn animation documentary!

Hello!

My husband and I are making a feature film documentary all about the current state of 2D hand-drawn animation, and the possibilities for its future. It’ll show a diversity of perspectives on the subject in a (mostly) post-2Danimation feature era.

With the recent Blender developments of 2D animation tools we thought some people here might be interested? Aside from that I am guessing that animation is everyone’s thing here…

We have our first trailer up: https://youtu.be/HLxPfi7QPCg

And we currently are running a crowdfunding campaign: https://igg.me/at/handdrawn

So far we have interviewed amazing animators like:
Bill Plympton (indie animation legend)
Nancy Beiman (Disney, Sheridan, filmmaker
Tina Nawrocki (Cuphead)
Samantha Youssef (Disney, Studio Technique)
Roger & Claude Chiasson (Disney, Hanna Barbera, Yowza)
Chris Burns & Bob Fox (Exit73 Studios)
Naseer Pasha (Netflix Castlevania)

My husband and I have been working to make this happen with any free time possible, interviewing animators close to our home in Toronto. We’re currently running our crowdfunding campaign to be able to interview those in LA and further abroad and finish this exciting project! We already have interviews lined up with Eric Goldberg, Aaron Blaise, and we are organizing to interview Sergio Pablos, full list is on our Indiegogo page.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I’ll get to your questions as soon as possible!

Thanks,
Felicity
(Director)
