You must be a ‘real’ artist. Your composition is very good.

Thanks alot!

Super cool ! Well Done ! I’m quite curious to know more about your workflow ! Can you share a few step about how do you proceed ?

Thanks! it’s actually pretty simple, first I grab a reference then I go over 3 main steps:

  1. modeling
  2. UV unwrap
  3. paint

I use paint system addon for layer management and auto UVs, it’s pretty cool :))

I’ll also share a small reel while I worked on this on my instagram if you’re interested to check!

Hey ! Thanks for the answer ! The small reel would probably feed my curiosity !
Unfortunately I’m not on IG or other social networks… But that’s ok maybe some other day I’ll try to learn more about the technique. I understand the broad idea, but probably get some kind of breakdown, timelapse would help me understand how ones approach problems from a painter perspective.

It’s pretty refreshing when you’re more into classic 3D workflows…

Then I’d recommend checking out Craft Reaper and Cody Gindy on YouTube! I mainly learned the concept from Craft Reaper’s tutorials, though I still felt pretty lost at first.

Painting skill relies a lot on understanding the fundamentals, whether that’s digital or traditional painting, color theory/harmony, blending techniques, light and shadow etc. so all I can say is try to learn those from 2d artists and translate that in 3d.

I’m still a beginner myself, the best I can do for now is using artworks as references made by other artists and try to follow along. it’s all a matter of practice. The more you paint, the more you’ll improve over time! :))

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Really nicely done. Love the “paint” strokes and highligts.
