Hands on Mechanical Modelling

here i m showing you a 3d model of a machine which i did few months back but yet to apply texture on it and render it in a presentable quality…How i can be so lazy sumtimes…:stuck_out_tongue:

Please check this model and comment on the areas which can be improved…

Pls ch

The model looks very nice and contains a lot of detail. I really had to look closely for areas of improvement as you have done a very nice job. Some comments:

  • For me it is not clear what it should do. Looking at the details there is a suggestion that parts should be moving but in practice wouldn’t be able to move as they seem to be attached to one of the sides of your machine.

  • The wheels look immense compared to the size of the rest of the machine. This would be wheels to transport a heavy cannon in soft terrain. Or almost the wheels of a steam roller.

  • How would the machine be transported? Should it be attached to a car, a horse or pulled by hand? There seems to be no handle or attachment.

  • On the machine as well as on the spokes of the wheels I would reduce the rounding of some of the edges. The circular end plate that sticks up on your last screenshot needs to be rounded a bit more.

I am looking forward to a render of your textured model.

Thanks for your advice Ray actually i did all this modelling with a referance image and so not sure about its use. It is yet a confounded confusion for me as well …;). I named it as " Auto Canon " coz, it is very similar to a Canon model.

and for textured model…i’ll b doing it very soon…and definately let you know about it.
At last…Lots of thanks for ur reply to this thread and i hope u’ll keep guiding me in near future as well…
