Happy accident while rendering

Maybe this is a known thing to all you pros out there but I think this is pretty cool! I was playing with a couple of things looking for different outcomes for this mirror…

I made this one with a cylinder, flattened and recessed… outer mesh wood, inner mesh a reflective mirror. On top of that reflective mirror I added another round mesh on top and beveled out the front a little to try to get a little curvature out of the glass. Gave it a clear glass texture and rendered in cycles.

The result was a double reflection. The mirrored texture has become inverted from the otter glass mesh. On top of that glass mesh in another reflection shown from the glass. Very faint but also in the correct position.

I thought this was pretty cool for computer software to read and render this.

Looks like I need to extend the wall a little. Didn’t count on it getting cut off in the reflection LOL!
