OK.This is my first worthy project for the Blender Comunity. I’ve been using blender for about a month now but I’m still kind of noobish:) . Anyway here are the pics. I still have a lot to do though…
Hey ur already good…considering that ur only a month in using Blender…keep it up and welcome to BA…
Hey, nice model, I would suggest giving the gray peices some kind of texture. Here is a 3d example of x-wing which has rather cool textures.

ecgilboy: thanks very much. I have blender for more then a month but because of school I don’t have enough free time.
tef: the material is only temporary. For the texture I was thinking about some sort of plating like the one here(http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73715&page=6&highlight=ship).
Your off to a great start, let us know if you have any problems along the way.
Try turning on AO, I think it will help alot.
Ait, thats a good reference, though your ship is a bit smaller Keep it goin and I will come back later.
I moddeled a rocket and tried to UV map it…but the results…well…:o
It’s supossed to have retractable wings (did I spell that right?) so they don’t get stuck in the launching tubes.
zanz: btw I tried using AO but the render time increased a lot so I figured I’ll keep the basic scene. Thx anyway.
Dude, that’s one cute little hot-rodded out spacefighter :D. I look at it and think "That thing’s just going to spin all around me, isn’t it . . . " (Then again, I probably played descent way too much . . . )
thx Star Weaver
BTW what should I put in the rear section of the ship? A bigger engine or a turret?
Cool rockets… it would be easier to help if u post a wireframe with seems so we can see how you tried to unwrap it. Otherwise it may have a bit to much spec to be a missile/rocket. But military stuff aint my field of expertise
I remodeled the rocket and mapped the texture to “tube” rather than UV map it. I figured the rocket won’t be seen in flight so close as to notice the seams in the texture. You can see the diference between the rockets here: (left-old right-new).
I tried using boolean difference on the old one to make some holes and made a mess out of the mesh:) . Also, I reduced the spec.
Btw I’ll probably update the ship in the morning
Have you thought to try using vector paint mode to paint the texture? It’s nice to be able to paint right onto the model in 3D.
I’m really sorry for not updating but I have same major virus problems and everything keeps crashing:( . I’ll try to update soon but I also have a problem with blender:
When I start blender, everything goes smoothly but after I work a bit it starts to respond really slowly to commands even if I have only a basic object… Until I fix these problems (most likely in about a week) I’ll probably won’t work on this project…
I repaired my computer and I’m ready for action… . After I took a good look at the ship I realized it looks too much like a portable vacuume cleaner so I added some wings and modified some stuff:
Here’s a pic of the rear:
As you can see I’m working on a sort of energy gun at the rear. here’s my concept :
Looks like I’m the only one posting today… . Anyway I’ve made 4 smaller energy cannons and added some wires(took ages to make them:) )with a high emit value to the main cannon and the small ones. I hope you like them:
Gun detail:
C&C welcome
I’m dissapointed… No replyes all night… I’m feeling ignored… But I’m gonna post 2 more pics of the small gun fireing and of the finished(sort of) back. Maybe someone will come and reply
Btw is it better to use Thumbnails or direct links??? ( some images look awfully pixelated in thumbnails but IDK why…)
sorry…double post
7 posts in a row and no comments… I’m getting more and more dissapointed… But I’ve got another update .(still hoping of some attention). This is a mounted machine gun. The ship will have 1 or 2 on the underside mounted on rotating platforms so they can fire in all directions. Here they are :

Enjoy and pleaseeee comment
