Is there a website that sells only Linux hardware ? I had problems finding a modem that runs on Linux.
Al_capone winmodems can run on linux!!!
some can at least check the documentation in KDE (or whatever you use)
also do a search for linux modems, or modem -winmodem
there are HEAPS out there.

He, he, he… The usual problem with Linux and winmodems…
You could also check out this site: http://www.linmodems.org/
They have some drivers for various modems which could possibly help you make your winmodem work with Linux, plus some valuable links…
Also you can check out this page, it has some lists with companies that might have what you want…

I hope this helps a bit…
Spyros.
That helps are there websites that just sell Linux hardware only ? Say like for any hardware ?
Al if you do your research then when you are about to buy/order a modem then it will be obvious wether or wether not its a linux modem.
also if you must, then you jsut write in the particulars of your order that it must be a LINUX COMPATIBLE MODEM. then if its not you can just send it back and say its not.
don’t rely on others to do all your work for you

I said hardwares not modems.
There is plenty of places that sell Linux Systems prebuilt, that way they are guaranteed to be compatible. But out of all the people using Linux to begin with, then out of that the ones who are building their own systems, then out of that the ones who don’t know the right stuff to use, then out of that the ones who won’t do the basic research… not a hudge market niche.
all hardware works with linux Al_Capone
just you might have to write a few drivers etc…

How much you earn acrusto ?
Just get a hardware modem or an external modem. Some of them are kind of expensive but it saves having to do a lot of work setting up a modem.
Ok.
