Harley V-Rod

I might actually finish this one. Im really not looking forward to the radiator housing.

I dunno whats up with the brake disc, i think its the raytracer going haywire bouncing rays around the circular holes, but im not sure.

looks great. maybe you should just fake the holes on the brake with a bump map.

ya, thats wut i was thinkin… can we see a closeup of the disc? id like to see more detail of the problem.

its a very very nice model, and i cant wait to see more!

looks awesome…are you gonna hook it up with flames and a custom sweet paint job? are you a bike enthusiast?

man…you should not forum chat while drunk on new years

for raytracing you would need some dummy environement

Check your normals on the brake. I had a similar problem with the ray tracer and it turned out to be normals.

Nice progress Enos! Looking foward to seeing more of this one.

Great details on the motor. Problem with the brakes might really come from the normales. How did you create the holes in the disc. Looks like there are a lot of polygons there.

The normals are all calculated outside.

It was bezier circles extruded and beveled, converted to mesh, and rem doubles.

Theres quite a few polys there, but the thing is dead smooth in blender itself, you can zoom in like 500x on top view, and theyre perfectly even. So i dunno.

Ill probly just have to fake the brake venting, something i really didnt want to do.

Im really not looking forward to building the radiator housing, im really not very good with complex curved objects.

Very nice!

Looks great so far, Enos. I had similar problems with the raytracer producing dot patterns in different areas. I found if you move the lamp(s) around just a little sometimes those dots disappear. Also changing the sample/smooth values of the ray tracing lamp might help (if you have ztonzy’s slightly older binary which allowed those values to be changed for all lamps). I also found that placing a regular lamp of a low level (~ .200) and distance value near the problem area sometimes relieved the situation or at least made it less noticeable.

I look forward to seeing this completed
