Has anyone else had this problem?

I’m running Blender 2.8 (12/30/18 build), and running Blender 2.79 (2.79b 2018-03-22 build). There are 3 different blend files that I created in 2.79 and recently opened in 2.8 to test comparative render times between the versions. (They ended up being pretty much neck and neck, for those interested).

Ever since then, whenever I’ve tried to open those blend files in 2.79 again, Blender crashes out to my desktop. I can open them in 2.8, so they’re not lost to me, but I’m not quite ready to switch over to 2.8 full-time yet.

Has this happened to anyone else? Could I have accidentally ticked a check box somewhere that would cause this?

This is not advised. Files saved in 2.8 may not work in 2.7x or earlier. What you probably can do though, is to go to 2.79, and use File>Append and then manually append the objects back into a new 2.79 file. That will most likely work.

Ah,

Thanks, William. I was afraid that something like that might happen.

Yeah, that’s what this warning is all about:
