Having trouble getting the right tutorials

Basically I am trying to learn how IPO curves and IPO drivers work, unfortunately everything I keep reading on those is only a refrence manual and not a full learning tutorial where you actually make something while your learning how it works. So does anyone know where I can get the right tutorials like that?

I highly recommend the ‘Introduction to Character Animation’ that is part of the Blender Summer of Documentation.

This excellent tutorial starts from zero and ends you up with a walking talking animated character. Of course, if all you want is IPOs and drivers, it may be more than you are looking for.
