Hawken Style Mech

I actually have a Vulcan Cannon modelled. It was on another Mech. I have the “already did that” feeling about it, so I’ll stick with the cannon. It’d be a good idea for a variant of this Mech though! :yes:

I added the exhaust. Going for a powder coated look with this material. Probably change when textured though. This is cool for now. Complete with exhaust flanges and exhaust hangers!

Pretty much abandoned the thought of boosters. I like the “real world” look of this machine. More details to come later… Thanks for looking and thanks for all the feedback. It is helpful.

The detail on the exhaust brackets is very nice but the bends in the pipes seem a bit off.

You have made some really nice progress on this one.
I’m not a huge fan of the left side gun, it seams a bit too simple somehow, but maybe texturing it will bring in some detailed feel to it.
And yes you just change the OP image to change the thumbnail :slight_smile:

Here are some current renders:

  • added armor plates to the cannon (front of ammo clip)
  • added headlamps (sides of the torso)
  • added armor “blinds” to cover the cockpit glass
  • rotated the top access hatch (so gravity would help open it!)
  • various armor tweaks (panels, bolts, small details, etc…to my satisfaction…)
  • oh…and tweaked the Test Pilot geometry and materials (more subdued colors/materials)




I’m calling the modelling “done” for the most part. I’m going to move on to texturing. More to come soon.

Like the cockpit shutters! starting to look very good! I think the human pose could be more convincing though

Well, that test pilot was something I built for a scale reference and …yeah…not so good. I’m more of a non-organic model builder. Anyway, thankfully there are other software suites that can help (Daz Studio), so I made a better human figure for scale and this one adds some fun to the composition.

I made some small tweaks; probably not noticeable. I noticed some missing structure in the rocket launcher. Had to model the shoes (she didn’t come with shoes…) and made a hat and dogtags for the military look.




…now it’s on to texturing…although I am enjoying the “showroom floor” kind of look! :slight_smile:

Ahhhhh … LOVE the bomber chick!

This looks really good! Only the joints on the legs are a bit odd looking to my eye (as those would gather good amount dirt inside). I would model some casings for those.
