Head blueprint blues or where to find symetrie in face/head if any?

Had made photos from female head of all four sides

(body to put theres no such problem besides a little rotation along vertical axis - about 5% in wide difference but if one can say how to calculate angel of rotation that would be some extra help) whooooo where was i at math lessons?:o stupid usage of calculator:eek:

and cant decide which feature to choose as guideline for matching them as blueprints. Yes i know how to use Gimp for rotating pictures. But i dont know what to use as symmetric axis - nose, inner points of eyes, ear upper extension or lobes. Lips are already out sorted as they are at no way symmetrical. And what seems to be horizontal, vertical (forehead-chin line?) at normal conditions. Dont know if it is a stupid question. Asking just for not making improper effort in setting up pictures in wrong way.

Here’s an excellent free 3DS Max video series but the first part is all about lining up head images and should help with what you want.

Try this tutorial:

It’s 3DSMax but the first bit is all about setting up reference images and should be really useful.

Try this link. It’s about setting up reference planes for human faces. It’s 3DSMax based, but the first parts are totally applicable to Blender. In fact I would look through the whole thing anyway - it’s an excellent set of tutorials. The guy is using Photoshop in his video, but I’m sure you could do the same with GIMP.

I can’t post links so just do a search for “Eric Maslowski tutorials organic” and you should find an excellent set of videos which start with how to set your reference images up.

The tutorial is for Max but all of the concepts can be used directly in Blender.

Hope this helps.
