I am trying to make a charicatureish head (basically, not real proportions etc but realistic skin and stuff)
I need to do the lips, i thought UV mapping would be best for the lips, what do ya all think?
I would make the eyesockets more distinct, and also pull the lower lip back a bit. Even if you are doing a characature, it is helpful to have a good knowledge of anatomy. I would spend some time studying closely the various elements of the face. A fairly intensive undertaking to be sure, but so are most things that are worthwhile.
Yup… it’s a head. What are you planning to do with it? I might be able to comment better with more information.
Just a personal opinion, but I think he needs eyelids. Good job on the skin, though. It could use a few details, but it doesn’t look bad at all. How did you do it?
I am planning to animate it once I have finished it. I have never done more than a simple anim so it should be interesting to have a go at it.
I was a bit annoyed when I wrote the last comment, I had spent about an hour and a half outside my house cos I ad forgotten my key. %|
Eyelids, yes, strangely I hadnt actually thought of that but it would emphasise the eyes nicely.
I have been having a bit of a problem doin the lips, I cant paint them because the colours blur and cover a huge area. If I try and use a seperate material, I get really blocky edges.
Would UV mapping be a good idea?
