Well, this is long, way long overdue. There were problems with this tutorial from the beginning, and it was written 18 months ago :o Some things have changed in the Blender, among other things the way loopcut works with hidden vertices. I’ve also lost the account information for the webhost I used %| And since blenderman.org is gone indefinitely, there was only the old version available, with my old e-mail adress. But I wanted a new host anyway, to get rid of that ugly banner.
Sorry for not optimizing picturesizes (sorry 56k’ers). Will fix that soon.
Like the subjectline says, it’s only a revised tutorial. Text is pretty much the same, with a few corrections and clarifications here and there. Pictures are new too, added two sections, but the subject is the same. One difference is that I plan to add more parts to the tutorial (facial detail coming next).
Hope you like. Bear in mind, it’s not completely finished, which should be obvious. Please come with comments, so I can improve it even further. Especially newbies are welcome to comment, since this is mainly for them.
Always liked this head tute when you first put it up. Very much like Wiro’s tute, (not sure if you know it), for box modelling a head.
Can’t say I have. I’d say my tutorial probably reminds of quite a few box modeling tutorials out there. Not much new to add, really But this is of course more focused on Blender workflow.
Great asset to the community Bellorum. Thanks for sharing and keeping this current.
Thanks. There are few ways for me to be able to give back to the Blender community, and since I can’t code, and my wallet is empty, this is it
Heh. Just noticed that the old version is featured in the tutorial section at blender3d.org. So that’s why I got so many mails about it I guess I’ll have to notify the section maintainer about the new version.
Hopefully you’ll be less lost now But, I will put a .blend-file up for downloading for every part of the tutorial, so you can just jump in where you want.
I honestly don’t know when I’ll make the rest of the tutorials, but I’m currently very unemployed so I can’t blame anything on lack of time anymore making these tutorials does take some time and effort though. Maybe I’ll have something up already later this week. But no promises.
Edit: Put up the .blend-file for downloading. Scroll down to the last section.
