well this is my first go at a head, im pretty much at the point where i need to do the ears, ive been procrastinating aobut it for ages :S
ahhh!! get him to the hospital immediately, hes missing half of his head!!!
naah, nice model. put the two halves together so people can see the whole figure better.
hmm i will. i gave him a dummy ear, because he will be wearing a hood, and you will hardly be able to see it. i also modelled the rest of his bust.
is there a feature in blender where you can match two halves together, so that when you alter one side, it alters the other? sorta like a realtime mirror.
oh and the face is phil collins, my reference pic
Actually I think that feature exists, but I have never used.
Cool start, WHich SubSurf level? Looks like there are artifacts. Try raising that level, at least for rendering.
Stefano
sure it does, just duplicate the other half with alt-d, (making a clone, not copy) … then hit “s” and “x” to mirror it (confirm mirroring with left mouse button).
then, when you edit the right side, you see the changes on the left one too.

Good stuff, also maybe you could post a wireframe (np subsurf)
Cool

*EDIT * Sorry I realised my post was distracting from your WIP, I’m gonna recycle some of the info into a “making heads with blender” thread
Cheers
woah dude! thanks! thats really helpfull stuff!!!
the nose has that ridge because the meshes arent joined, but when they are, the subsuf smooths the edge and it looks normal.
okay, here it is joined. im pretty happy with it now, i gotta work on the hood. should be fun. any tuts on modelling cloth!?
GFX this is coming along really well.
Luckybreak has posted a mini tute that might help you out if your getting stuck:- https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11787&highlight=

Sonix. (sorry if the links aren’t what you’re after)
man, you guys are awesome, this is fully helping, things will be a little different next time.
what do you think proportion wise?
stuff i need to fix
- more lip definition, and uopper lip should be bigger
- sort nose out
- get rid of that dumb eyebrow frown thing
- either side of the lip
any others?
Well, if aint a hassle could you post a front and side orthographic? and add a few more lights to the persective so we can see whats going on under the chin area. Sounds like you know what need working on with those points you mentioned
grrrr, 2.27 is giving me grief, gotta clear up all the crud and put 2.26 back on
i still think that guy needs to be hospitalized. plastic surgery is the only way out.
Blendermax, no one get proportion right off the bat, its something that takes time. Gfxidiot, get hold of some photo reference for the body as he is out of proportion with his head. The tip of his nose looks pinched, round that out while giving the nostril more definition. Also study the angle that the rim of the nostril sits. Give more definition to the upper lip. but I think you are gonna have to re-assess the mesh structure around the mouth as I suspect this is whats giving him that puckered look. Smoothing out the curve round the chin may help there.
Hope that is helpful -I’ve never really given crits before.

blendermax: if you were the plastic surgeon, what would you do?
thats a roundabout way of asking what about the proportions are wrong…
surgery can’t help him. get his nose out of his face and give him a chin
