Had this image in my head the other day so I thought I’d see if I could put it together. The model is done (I think) and I now need to try and texture it etc. I’m hoping to get a dark room look with the lights of the amp glowing. Well thats the idea anyway.
i agree this is looking great. how did you do the foam on the inside of the ear piece? is that just a nor texture or…? (it looks good, but a little stiff looking, like it would scratch the ear, maybe texturing will soften it up)
one small suggestion, zero the Y-rotation of the camera. the headphones look nice at this angle, but to me it’s odd to see the floor/table plane tilted like this.
Marsan I’ve replied in your post with a link that may be of interest to you.
vitality I hope I get the materials right. I find modeling is the easy part. I send 80% of the time trying different lights materials etc. Is it just me or materials and lighting harder to understand than modeling?
treatkor RogerWickes suggested I do a search for a nice jean fabric he saw posted. What I found was the link below. I’ve adjusted the Y on the camera and I also had to increase the size of the amp. When I go home and looked my amp I realized the proportions where a bit off. http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=72855&highlight=fabric
I posted 2 more shots just to give an idea of what I’m trying to get. Any suggestions on materials or lighting would be appreciated. I might do a bit of work on the amp lights I think it may add to the mode of the the scenic.
I thought I’d go into node mode and add a little glow. Forgot that 2.43 has extra options in the node editor, will have to play around to see what they all do. I tried to pull back / soften the background and have the focus on the headphone.
Not sure if the sponge/foam in the ear piece is working out.
Here’s the final render. Tried to lighten the scene a bit but wanted to have a dark theater room feel. I did notice that when viewing scenes like this one on different monitors the levels will vary. On one screen it could look ok and yet on another it could be nearly pitch black. I think I got the level right in this one.
