Heavy Thoughts

After messing with this image for about half a year, I guess I need some feedback.

I’m aiming for a realistic look (or, even better, surrealistic  ), which is still quite difficult for me to achieve. I’d like to make something visually appealing finally.

  • Modeling is pretty much finished. I might return to remodeling the cloth being washed as it is a bit too messy, hard to tell its original shape.
  • Shaders - I like them in general, but some are far from looking realistic. I’m really bad at drawing textures, but I’ll probably have to learn.
  • Lighting is something I’m happy with in this case. But if you think there are issues even with it – well, yeah, I know usually lighting draws my images back, so this might be no exception.
  • Currently, there is no post processing involved at all. Most textures are procedural and the clouds are volumetric. Even the clothes are hand-modeled, by the way.
  • The name is more of an placeholder. I felt pity to call the thread like “My image” or “Make up a nice name here”.

All kinds of criticism are welcome, until stated otherwise

Great work mate. The only problem i can see so far are the toe nails. For some reason they are brown and they dont really pop out like that. Other than that, good work.

You are right, Radulf. I added a texture to the nails and altered their topology a bit.
Here is the updated image, with a few other changes:

In my point of view, the last thing bloodily missing a texture is the washing machine itself. I am probably going to work on it next.
But still, it think the image is missing some kind of a frame. My composition is boring, but I don’t know how to improve it. Mmm, does anybody have an idea?
