Hi! i´m trying to sculpt a character I did but when I try to start sculpting it does nothing, I tried with and without dyntopo, is not the pixel quantity and is not locked.
I´m gonna paste my blender project in case someone can help me. Thanks!
Sorry …I tried it and had no problem sculpting, though it is so low poly there is not much to work with…when I start a sculpt I open the splash screen sculpt mode and it gives you a perfect quad-sphere to start with and everything is ready to go… 2.8RC1
You do have a problem when you mirrored it, the center vertices are overlapped down the front and back…that will cause the sculpt yo go all different directions…
Hi! I found out its something about my configuration because when i reset the factory settings i was able to sculpt again but when I close Blender it does it again so at this point is to figure out what exactly i touched that did it.
Thank you for the observation, I just started using Blender and I have noticed some mistakes myself and keep them in mind.Any tip to solve the overlapping problem? extruding vertices is giving me a little trouble. Thanks!
As far as the factory, I would set it back to default and then save as startup file and see if that keeps it from reverting.
The overlapping geometry can be solved in several ways…but as you already had a mesh done I fixed one for you… just so you can see what I did, picture better tan words and all that.
Your mirror mesh over lapped by half the body once I started looking closer…What I did was use the knife tool and cut the geometry in half, then deleting one half, added back the mirror modifier with x and bisect selected. Because the original had the overlaps some of the mesh did not join as it was at a different angle. To fix this went to edit mode and vertex selection. Picked 2 adjoining vertices and right-click, drop down to merge vertices / at center. I one area it was better to just go to edge mode and selecting 2 of the edges used bridge edge loops to fix it.
You will still have a problem with the armpit area, as it looks like the arm was attached, but then rotated deforming the underarm mesh.
Thank you so much! I did save it as a sartup file and it solved the thing.
I´m currently doing as you said, although i can´t open the file you sent, thank you so much for your time, I really appreciate it.
Yeah, I used the 2.8v and now works just fine thanks, also do you know why it cracks the chest when i want to sculpt in the one you sent me? sorry if im being annoying with all these questions lol
It is an EDGE if you check it in object mode you can see it. I just double checked and there were a few more Plus a hole…that I did not fill…Sorry about that!

There are many problem areas and they will give you grief… but for a practice sculpt it will do…I would advise starting from the Flash Screen with the sculpt and re-start with the good mesh…
Here is a VERY long tutorial in 2.79 but most everything works the same… Tutorial
