Helicopter Starting VFX (Cy les+Internal Render ) + BREAKDOWN

okay, I wanted to do this since a long time actually, letting a helicopter start from the ground, sadly i never had a good Camera Track, that was tracked well enough to realize this project. The solution was http://www.youtube.com/user/MuGimBle ! He gave me footage that he tracked by himself and it was PERFECT :smiley: !!

That looks very good, sombrastudios! I can tell you spent a good amount of time on the helicopter’s materials and compositing everything together. Great work!

One thing that may help sell the effect even better would be to crush the shadows of the helicopter a bit more. I feel that they’re a bit too light, based on the other shadows in the scene. Not only the shadows we see on the ground, but also the shadows seen on the sides of the trees in the background…

Also, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, the shadow of the helicopter seems to invert at the end. I’m not sure if this is an issue in compositing, or something else.

How did you achieve motion blur on the rotors? They look great!
