Hello - I have a question

I don’t know if this is the right place, I have this thing I would like to ask . .

I really love MS Paint, the old pixel paint program, from MS Windows, it’s super-easy and, I really like pixel art but, it’s not supported in Blender, I mean the ’ paint ’ software for textures, in Blender is more like photoshop . . I understand people want that support, and it’s probably better, but I really love pixels, sitting making pixel images . . But, when I edit things ’ externally ’ in Paint, it doesn’t show up in blender, until I save, import, also update the texture . .

I would really like for blender to have an option, to sort of use an in-built version of MS Paint, since I like making pixel art, and to draw pixels . . I don’t want to make photos, I want to draw pixels . .

I like to have a lot of control, over where I paint the pixels, and in photoshop every-thing is blurred, and I don’t create exactly what I want, it’s like the paints are ’ smoothed ', and I don’t like that, I want to place the pixels, individually . .

I don’t know if this is the forum, to ask for features in Blender, but I really wish Blender sort of had MS Paint built in, as the standard ’ Texture painting ’ tool, then one can alter that in Photoshop if one wants, or to have that option . . When I texture paint right now, the result is sort of a ’ smeared ’ pixel, with a gradient, but I like the look of pixels, I’m a nerd - -

I like to know what I’m doing, placing each paint with precision, and accuracy, like a science, almost . .

I really like old - pixel looking game, with 3D textures, where it looks ’ computer ', I like that stuff, also 3D, and so on, is there a blender place, where one can ask for such things, it’s really annoying I have to work in MS Paint, where UV’s can’t be seen, and then save, update the texture, all the time, Please help - -

When I go into ’ texture paint ', and click some-where, it sort of looks like it’s been ’ smoothed ', and I can’t place individual pixels, with also creating a ’ blurred ’ pixel next to it, so I don’t know what I’m doing, that’s probably best for really hard-core artists, but I think pixels are friendly, and like that art, Please help - -

I don’t like when the paint software sort of makes it ’ look pretty ', but I don’t know what I’m doing, like it’s random, or error - - could one have two paint programs, instead of one, possibly ’ import ’ MS Paint as a sort of ’ extra ’ painting software, so I can make really cool, pixel-looking models, for my projects, which I love - -

So, when I open an ’ UV ', I can paint it in MS Paint like software, where you place a pixel, and it looks fun, like in old days, I really don’t like when the software ’ makes it pretty ', smooths things, without me being able to control it, down to the painting each individual pixel - - Maybe Blender could have a ’ light ’ MS Paint version, for painting models, and a more complex ’ gIMP ’ version, or Autodesk Sketchbook, I don’t like making something, drawing some lines, and then the software makes it look ’ cool ', and I don’t know what I’m doing, it’s just random - -

Here is some art, I made in MS Paint, I really like working in it, So relaxed - -

I miss the old days, when models had pixels, and you sat down, and made pixels, in Paint - -

maybe if Blender had both a Photoshop, for the more artistic people, but also MS Paint, for the nerds, to edit pictures and, textures - -

here’s what I’m looking for, a program that makes this, in Blender - -

I understand Blender needs to have a photoshop like Paint program but, I really miss Good, old MS Paint, and the feeling of just making pixels, without some fancy brush, that makes everything look cool, right away - - I like placing the individual pixels, That’s fun - -

I’m struggling to see what relation this had to Blender…

None of the ‘pixel’ stuff would be made in Blender directly - It’s not an image editor and never will be. Also, MS Paint is owned by Microsoft, and so could never be bundled with Blender. Not to mention, it’s a terrible image editor.

You can absolutely make pixel art in Photoshop. All you need to do is set your canvas to the size you want, and then you set your zoom to actual size. You then use the Pencil tool, not the brush tool, to ‘paint’ with.

Blender though - by default - will always try and smooth that texture out. So you used to do something with Mipmaps settings, but now I think you change the image texture node settings to turn it off.

I think I know, I just think it’s sad I can’t make the ’ computer models ’ I want in Blender, I am sort of forced to use Photoshop like software, which is good for many thing, but it’s not the way I want to work, I like pixels, and photoshop is actually more for image editing, and sort of Cool photography . . I don’t really like photography, I Love pixels, and computers more - - I wish Blender had both a ’ photoshop ’ image editor, but also a ’ MS Paint ’ image editor, that one could switch between, Depending on Project - -

Paint is a fantastic paint program, I really love it, you can make any-thing, and it looks very ’ computer ', Photoshop you just sort of pick the ’ spray - can ’ tool, and you can make epic grafitti in little time, but it’s like I didn’t really do it my-self, I just drew some random stuff, and the program made it look cool - - I understand both things have to be there, since Blender is also for arch-viz and, for more cinematic or, ’ cool ’ things, and professionals - - I just don’t like when the program has a button that says, ’ click to make look cool ', and its not me doing it, like I’m a nerd, I like the math, on Pixel - painting, A lot - -

check out grease pencil
it has become very powerful in 2.8

and there are other paint program more powerful then paint which is useless in general so primitive and 70’s LOL

look at krita for instance which is way better then MS Paint
or use Gimp for image editor
