Hey all, I could use some advice. I’m currently in the process of buying the parts I need to build a computer, and I’m a bit stuck on the graphics card. I’m on a modest budget, so I don’t want a really powerful graphics card, but one that can handle blender. Should I go with the Radeon HD 4670, or should I wait for the Nvidia GT 430. Is the GT 430 more powerful?
Also, I hear that ATI cards have some driver issues with blender, but I’m not sure if that’s still true. I’m trying to find a card around or under $85, so please don’t suggest something way above that, like a GTX 480. I simply can’t afford one. Thanks in advance!
I have a 4870, runs great, would advise getting it, no driver issues here. It’s a fairly cheap card, so I’d just say to get it. Currently looking up other cards and will post my findings, I advise ATI cards, I personally don’t like NVIDIA, plus as far as I’ve ever been able to tell, ATI is better.
I’d still advise ATI, there may be better ones for those prices but just going through a quick scan, and not actually taking a few hours to find the exact best ones, that’s what I got for you.
Thanks for the info I think I’ve decided on the HIS HD 4670. Newegg is running a promotion sale, so it’s quite cheap.
I’m not sure if you’re an expert on this kind of thing, but do you know what the biggest factor that affects the 3D interface is? Is it the size of the memory, the memory speed, the number of stream processors, or the processor speed? Again, thanks for the help
I’m no expert on this but I’ve heard that the most important factor to speed up the Real-time rendering in the 3D viewport is the graphics card & RAM memory…
