[HELP] Blender User Preferences Boxy Text?

my blender user preferences look like this, and it is making it very difficult to use, how do i fix it?

Look on the last tab (System). The two things I would check would be to see if you have a Interface Font selected (bottom right corner) and what the DPI (top left corner) is set to.

Also, what OS? That could be affecting it.

Looks like what happens to Blender when I have tried running it under LinuxMint via VirtualBox on my Mac. Are you running XP in a virtual machine?
