I just got blender 2.8 on windows a short time ago and was learning the ropes. I’m still not very “clued-in” however.
Today I downloaded the Snow v2 rig from Blender Studio. I tried to follow the linking guide on the website, but I have a problem.
When I go into Link, and select the Snow v02 .blend file, it opens but there seems to be no folders (e.g. collections) within the .blend file, meaning I can’t link the rig into blender.
I have tried again with snow v3 but the same thing still happens.
What might be causing this? Perhaps I have the wrong version of blender?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Did you follow the instructions on the Snow page, on how to link?
Did you Link the CH-Snow Collection, with Instance Collections Active?
Then did you select the CH-Snow Collection, in the outliner, Right Click, and navigate to Library Override > Make > Content?
Then select the armature in the viewport. Then switch to Pose Mode…
Personally, I would rather open the Snow Blend file as it adds the asset library as well and allows you to open the Asset Shelf ( only available in Pose Mode), which has the hand and face poses.
Thanks! I’ve solved it.
I did follow the webpage instructions, but I think what the issue was, is that when I box-selected the rig, I also must have selected the eyes/teeth/tongue etc as well by accident, therefor every mode under the sun except pose mode was available.
I feel even sillier now, but thank you for your patience. And thanks for the tip about the asset library!
