and also check you render output directory

is good, it is the render directory in the current working directory (if applicable the directory of the file you have open)

Render directory is /tmp/ (i’m on linux); the anim playback window wasn’t open.

Mayabve you´ve got the AVI open in another application.

or if you’re in windows explorer thinks it has opened it (to try to create a thumbnail or something stupid)
