HELP.. Cant use GPU for render in Cycles..

Hi all…
My Laptop is Vaio VPCEA45FG with:
Intel® Core™ i3-380M Processor 2.53GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
4 giga RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 Graphics with 512mb dedicated memory video

Why in blender properties panel i cant see option for use GPU ? is my graphic card not supported ?
How can i use THIS graphic card for faster rendering?

ATI isn’t supported yet, Just use the CPU… might be faster than your GPU anyway.

any idea when blender cycles suport ATI ?

Possibly Dec. with 2.61… that’s when cycles is officially added to blender. you never know though. I hope so… My desktop has a ATI 1gb firepro 4800 so would be nice to use that. my laptop has a nvidia 2gb GT540 with cuda… it works very well with cycles.

glad to hear that… cant wait 2.61
Wow, your machine is really good…
is my 512mb GPU will faster than my 2.53 Ghz ?
Thx for reply…

it’ll probably be a toss up, but you won’t know tell you compare them using cycles. my GT 540 is faster than my i7 2617M 2.6ghz with cycles. but those aren’t comparable to your system so I guess that is of no help… Just have to wait and see.

hey i have problem with cycles GPU rendering too
i have geforce nvidia gt 520 and when i click on GPU rendering i get black screen …
do u guys have any idea whats going on
is it something wrong with drivers
also in dxdiag i cant see driver version and chip type but i have installed drivers from cd that came with my graphic card
pls any idea what should i do … thx

but i have installed drivers from cd that came with my graphic card
You are probably then using the most out of date drivers available.
Make sure you get a CUDA enabled version of blender from graphicall.org and update the drivers from the manufacturers website.

Hi guys, I have the same problem. I’m trying to use Cycles with GPU but I have no option to choose GPU.
Notebook ASUS N55SF-S1262V with NVIDIA GeForce GT555M 2GB DDR3 - as I saw on the NVIDIA pages it has CUDA.
I also downloaded the Blender 2.60.5 - Cycles (CUDA) - some versions to test from graphicall.org but with the same results.

OS: Win7 x64
Latest GeForce driver I found is: 285.62-notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe

Anyone can help?

I am waiting too OpenCL full support because i got 6850 especially for blender.
