Help creating BMPCC color space for Blender

Hey everyone! Forgive me if I don’t make the best use of the site, 'tis my first post.

I’m a VFX artist and filmmaker, so of course, photorealism is the goal. What I’m working on nailing down right now is color management to match my CG to my footage. I have an original BMPCC that I shoot on, so I want Bldner to encode colors for display/export the same way my camera encodes my footage so the colors match.

As far as my research has shown, this whole thing is basically just really complicated and kind of a pain, and I’ve had troubles with editing my color management config.ocio file without breaking Blender.

In summary, I’m at the starting point here, and it’s all quite confusing, but I’m open to any help anybody might be able to offer. Thanks everyone!

Once you understand ACES, your problem will be solved. Also, Blender has Filmic as default in Render Properties > Color Management, you need to set Standart for your view transform.

Wow, I never thought about the fact that I’ve actually been thinking display-referred instead of scene-referred. Thanks for this great resource!
