I’m trying to render a volume in cycles that utilises a point density texture from a particle system and for the life of me, I can get it to work.
Does cycles support point densities? If so, any help would be appreciated.

The point density texture is not supported by Cycles yet, you can however create a box that uses a sphere gradient texture (mixing in other textures) if you need to have a floating volumetric mass.
@maxdudkik. What you have there is for the Blender Internal renderer. I’m trying to do a point density texture for the Cycles renderer. As far as I know, Cycles still doesn’t support point densities.
Convenient time for this thread to get bumped, it turns out that Sergey has been working on officially supporting the Point Density texture in Cycles over the last week or so.
Perhaps for 2.75, the answer to this thread will be “yes, it is supported”.
