im currently stuck on a remodeling Project and would appreciate any help i could get.
Basically i got a Cad-Model, which i already got as a converted c4d file.
Some major changes had to be made regarding proportions of the lens and several other
parts. That was actually the easy part.
The bigger problem is to smooth out certain areas and bring more detail for better renderresults.
The c4d file brings some presmoothing information i just don’t want to destroy but as soon as i
want to edit that areas, the vertex information is gone and i have no chance to recreate that
with my current skills.
Is there anybody who could me smoothing out / detailing / deedging especially the ring parts without
changing too much of the existing geometry.
Luckily the changes i had to make on that model didn’t destroy the smoothing because of just working in the few flat surfaces. This somehow didn’t affect that presmoothing. As soon as i am touching rounded areas, the smoothing is gone. So i couldn’t clean up the problematic meshes.
